Xu Gong was a Wu politician.
Biography Edit[]
Xu Gong was an officer of Liu Yao, the Governor of Wujun. When Liu Yao fled Wu after his defeat by Sun Ce, he fled to the city of Kuaiji in the Wu Territory, Sun Ce's next target. Xu Gong served under the bandit Yan Baihu, commissioned to defend the Governor Wang Lang from all attackers. Yan Baihu was killed, and Xu Gong served under Wang Lang next. But Xu Gong surrendered after Wang Lang fled to Cao Cao, and became the Prefect of the Wu Territory. He was unfriendly with Sun Ce because of his quarrels with him before his surrender, and protested against Sun Ce's attack on Cao Cao, stating that he was attacking Emperor Xian himself. Sun Ce had Xu Gong executed for his relationship with the enemy, but this mistake was to prove fatal; he was killed by some of Xu Gong's followers.
